Care home residents support Time for a Cuppa campaign

A CHARITY tea party was held at Watlington and District Nursing Home.

The Sanctuary Care home in Hill Road was taking part in the Time for a Cuppa campaign to raise funds for Dementia UK. Guests enjoyed tea and cakes. Karen Hilton, the home?s activities leader, said: ?Our residents love to welcome people from the local community to events in their home and Dementia UK is a charity so close to all our hearts here.? Time for a Cuppa is Dementia UK?s annual event to raise funds for the provision of admiral nurses, specialist dementia nurses.

Amy Cudmore, community fund-raiser for the charity, said: ?There are currently 140 admiral nurses in the UK to support families living with the effects of dementia, which simply isn?t enough. Dementia UK is striving to increase the number by 50 per cent by the end of 2016.?
