Ride for Ryder postponed until September

A CHARITY cycle ride organised by Sue Ryder has been called off

A CHARITY cycle ride organised by Sue Ryder has been called off.

Ride for Ryder was due to take place on Sunday but has been postponed due to "unforeseen circumstances".

The hospice at Nettlebed, where the ride was going to start and finish, refused to reveal the reason behind the decision.

The ninth annual event will now take place on September 20.

Participants have been contacted and their registrations have been rolled over to the new date.

All other details remain the same and registration is open online.

The cycle features routes winding through the Chiltern Hills, including part of the Tour of Britain 2014 route.

There will be a choice of three routes to suit all abilities. All participants are asked to raise a minimum of £100 and it?s hoped the event will raise £8,000 for the hospice.

Route options and related fees are 10 miles (£10 registration fee), 25 miles (£15) and 60 miles (£20).

About 130 cyclists took part in last year's Ride for Ryder. Entrants came from across the UK, including many from South Oxfordshire, and their ages ranged from 11 to 77.

You can register for this year's event online at www.sueryder.org/get-involved/events/all-events/2015/may/ride-for-ryder-nettlebed or call the fund-raising office on (01491) 641384 ext. 246.
