AN antiques valuation event raised £503 for Christ the King Church in Sonning Common.
Visitors donated £3 for a valuation given by Simon Jones, of Watlington autioneers Jones & Jacobs.
There was also a raffle at the event, which was held at the church in Sedgewell Road.
Mr Jones valued about 60 items and said: ?There was a good selection, including some Russian silver and some very nice Chinese vases.?
Rev Susan Cooper, associate priest at the church, had a Victorian double-ended scent bottle valued at £150.
She said: ?I thought it was just a piece of glass but it has been passed through my family so I doubt I would sell it.?
Mr Jones said: ?It was a very nice example, turquoise with an inset top and small cork seal. It was in pristine condition.?
Sue Nickson, who organised the event, said: ?Some people said their items were worth something while others found out they had just sentimental value.?
Meanwhile, a choir concert raised more than £600 for the church.
A combined choir from Christ the King and St John the Baptist Church in Kidmore End performed in front of about 90 people.
The choir sang traditional hymns as well as contemporary folk music.
Jenny MacGregor, from Tokers Green, who was part of the choir, said: ?It was a lovely afternoon and the choir enjoyed the performance.?
