Farmers fun day set for Fawley

A FAMILY fun day organised by Henley Young Farmers will be held at the Fawley Hill Estate of Sir and Lady McAlpine on Sunday, May 24.

A FAMILY fun day organised by Henley Young Farmers will be held at the Fawley Hill Estate of Sir and Lady McAlpine on Sunday, May 24.

Members of young farmers clubs from across Oxfordshire will compete in more than 100 competitions, including cookery, art and woodwork as well as obstacle races, digger handling and welly wanging.

In the late afternoon all the clubs will take part in in tug ?o? war contest in the main ring followed by the club float parade.

There will be a host of other attractions, including birds of prey, heavy horses, a motorcycle display team, steam traction engines, vintage vehicles and tractors, children?s rides and even a 300ft inflatable assault course.

There will also be a bar serving local beers and ciders, local food stands and trade and craft stalls.

The Fawley Hill steam railway and museum will be open.

The day begins at 10 am. Entry costs £5 for adults, £3 for chldren aged 10 to 6 and under-10s go free.
