ABOUT 1,000 people attended an annual car boot sale at the Piggott School in Wargrave on Sunday.
The sale, which is organised by the Wargrave branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, took place on the school field and there were almost 100 sellers.
Branch chairman Michael Porter said more than £1,800 was raised.
He said: “It went very well. We had an extremely good turnout of both sellers and buyers and it was very busy.
“The only thing that gave us a little bit of difficulty was arranging the cars because part of the field was still fenced off due to the new artificial pitch that has been built at the school.
“Because of that things were more cramped than we would have liked.
“However, we are confident that we will have more space available to us in 2016 and look forward to seeing our regulars again.
“I’d like to thank all those who helped run the event and all who came to buy or sell for their support.”
