Gardens open day

AN open gardens day organised by Watlington in Bloom raised more than £100.

AN open gardens day organised by Watlington in Bloom raised more than £100.

The money will be donated to a charity but organisers have not yet decided which one.

Six gardens in the town were open to the public on Sunday â?? two in High Street and the others in Prospect Place, The Goggs, Old School Place and Brook Street.

Terry Jackson, who chairs Watlington in Bloom, said: “It wasn’t quite as well attended as previous years but I think that was partly the weather and the clash with Henley Royal Regatta.

“We want people to know that Watlington in Bloom hasn’t stopped working and it’s a good way of doing that.”
