A GORING woman hopes to raise £500 to buy 100 chickens for a farm in Africa.
Sue Hookway is supporting the Kenyan charity Mission With A Vision after travelling to the country with her husband Terry this year.
The couple, of Wallingford Road, regularly carry out aid work in Sierra Leone but had to make alternative plans because of the Ebola outbreak.
The charity, set up by a Kenyan teacher in 2013, provides a shelter for teenage girls who have been rescued from forced marriages.
It cares for up to 180 youngsters at a school and farm complex in Narok, 100 miles west of the capital Nairobi.
The girls grow their own food and are trained in farming skills so they can start making a living.
A £5 donation will cover the cost of raising a chick to adulthood so it can provide eggs and meat.
