Charity’s car loan

THE Sue Ryder hospice at Nettlebed has been loaned a new car for a year.

THE Sue Ryder hospice at Nettlebed has been loaned a new car for a year.

The Vauxhall Astra Tourer is part of a new corporate partnership deal with Select Contracts, a Reading car leasing firm.

The hospice will use the car to transport patients to day hospice and outpatient appointments as well as for fund-raising events.

Tracey Hancock, head of fund-raising, said: “We’re really grateful. It makes a huge difference to us not to have to finance a car for a year and it’s great that we’re able to offer this service to our patients.

“It also means we have a vehicle to use for all our fund-raising events on days when day hospice is not running.”

James O’Malley, co-founder of Select Contracts, said: “It’s important to us to give back now that we have the means to do so. My mum died of cancer when I was young so it’s great to be able to support the hospice like this.”
