Special Brakspear ale boosts Henley in Bloom

BRAKSPEAR has presented a cheque for £450 to Henley in Bloom.

BRAKSPEAR has presented a cheque for £450 to Henley in Bloom.

The money came from the sales of Blooming Marvellous, a seasonal golden ale brewed at the company?s microbrewery at the Bull in Bell Street and sold at its 11 Henley pubs during June.

It is the second year running that Brakspear has donated 20p from each pint sold to the group and the presentation took place at the Angel on the Bridge, which sold the most pints. Emma Sweet, marketing manager for Brakspear, said: ?Henley?s beautiful floral displays are a large part of the town?s appeal to its many visitors, many of whom also enjoy a pint in a Brakspear pub.

?As a company with a centuries-old tie to the town, Brakspear was more than happy to support Henley in Bloom for a second year.?

Kellie Hinton, vice-chairman of Henley in Bloom, said: ?Brakspear is a valued partner of Henley in Bloom and we are grateful for their support.

?We are delighted with this donation to our funds, which will be put to good use in 2016. We?re already brainstorming with Brakspear and have a few ideas up our sleeve.

?It?s also good to know that pub goers locally chose to drink a beer that supported Henley in Bloom, although I?m sure its great taste was also a factor!?
