A TEA party in Henley raised more than £60 for the town’s over-60s club.

A TEA party in Henley raised more than £60 for the town’s over-60s club.

About 15 people attended the event at the Gainsborough Crescent home of Ann Eggleton, who is a member of the club in Greys Road car park. Guests were served tea and cakes and there was a raffle with prizes including bottles of wine, candles and a birdhouse.

It was the third fund-raising party Mrs Eggleton has held in the last two years. She said: “It was very good. We had a good turnout of people and raised a lot more than last time.

“The money will go to the over-60s club for events like their Christmas party.” Dozens of people usually attend the Christmas party, where guests are served a traditional festive dinner of turkey with all the trimmings and entertained by children, veteran singer Vince Hill and the Mayor.
