Open days at gardens

TWO gardens will be open to the public later this month to raise money for the British Red Cross.

TWO gardens will be open to the public later this month to raise money for the British Red Cross.

Scotlands in Warren Row (RG10 8QP) is four acres of diverse gardens created over 40 years by the same family. There are formal and woodland walks with water features, a small lake and a French parterre box clipped garden.

The garden will be open from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday, September 13. Home-made cakes and teas will be served. Entry costs £3.50.

Bottom House in Bix (RG9 6DF) has immaculate lawns surrounded by borders filled with late summer flowering perennials, especially salvias, while clipped yews surround the sunken gardens.

The garden will be open on Wednesday, September 16 from 2pm to 5pm. Home-made cakes and teas will be served. Entry costs £3.50.
