MUSICIANS performed for charity at the entrance to Tesco in Henley.

MUSICIANS performed for charity at the entrance to Tesco in Henley.

They sang pop songs and played instruments as part of the Reading Road supermarket?s Rock The Shop event on Saturday.

Performers included singer-songwriter and guitarist Gareth Nugent and his daughter Caitlin, from Catslip, and Henley singer Greg Bennett.

Staff wore music-themed fancy dress while children?s entertainer Darren Hillier wandered around the aisles, playing ukulele and handing out balloon models to shoppers.

The event raised £570 for the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.

Ali Simmons, the branch?s community champion, said: ?It was a brilliant and colourful day. We?re really thankful to everyone who donated and all the performers who gave up their time for free. It was something a bit different and everyone had a fun time.?
