ANGIE and Calum Best will present the prizes at this year?s Henley half marathon.

ANGIE and Calum Best will present the prizes at this year?s Henley half marathon.

The event, to be held on Sunday, October 11, will also include the Henley Standard 10km race.

Mrs Best, who owns the Metaphysical gym at Henley Business School, off Marlow Road, will be joined by her son, who will be promoting his new gym which is due to open on another part of the site.

She said: ?Calum has run a couple of marathons so he knows what it takes. When it comes to health and fitness we have to encourage and support people that do stuff like that.

?You have only got one body and it?s a very precious and priceless thing.?

She said there was no opening date for Calum?s gym yet but added: ?It?s work in progress and won?t be much longer.?

The pair were invited by South Oxfordshire District councillor Paul Harrison, who attends Metaphysical.

The events are organised by the Rotary Club of Henley Bridge and race organiser Peter Wilkinson said that so far there were about 1,200 entries for the half marathon and 350 for the 10km.

He added: ?The entries are basically in line with the last two or three years.

The runners can expect an enjoyable, attractive course, a challenging climb up Fawley Hill and a good day out in Henley.

?Every finisher will receive a goodie bag, a medal and, we hope, an enjoyable experience. The 10km medal has been renamed and had now has the Henley Standard logo on it.?

On the day of the race Marlow Road from the Toad Hall/Icehouse Lane junction, Bell Street, New Street and Thames Side as well as the eastbound lane of Henley Bridge will be close from about 9.20am to 9.45am.

Mr Wilkinson said: ?We acknowledge that some delays will occur, so apologise for any inconvenience in advance, but we would ask everybody to respect the arrangements in order to allow the thousands of runners who take part to safely enjoy their day in Henley.?

Online entries are now closed but people can still enter by downloading a form from www.henleyhalfmarathon.org.uk
