Cancer boy fund-raiser

A FUND-RAISING day for an eight-year-old boy undergoing chemotherapy will be held tomorrow (Saturday).

A FUND-RAISING day for an eight-year-old boy undergoing chemotherapy will be held tomorrow (Saturday).

Charlie Ilsley, from Emmer Green, has had to endure surgery and hours of radiotherapy since he was diagnosed with a brain tumour earlier this year.

In August he began four months of chemotherapy.

Staff at Tesco in Henley, where his mother Toni is a technician in the pharmacy, will be dressing in yellow and collecting donations for Charlie’s Fund tomorrow. There will also be a children’s entertainer and face painting.

Mrs Ilsley and her husband Mark are trying to raise up to £200,000 to pay for revolutionary proton therapy treatment, so Charlie doesn’t have to have radiotherapy again if the disease returns.
