A GRANT of £2,000 will be awarded to Wargrave’s local ReadiBus service.

A GRANT of £2,000 will be awarded to Wargrave’s local ReadiBus service.

Parish councillors agreed to give the money, which will come from its section 137 funding, to the charity at a meeting on Monday last week.

Clerk Stephen Hedges said: “It’s a very well-used service. It’s used by the pop-in club, luncheon club, Elizabeth Court retirement home and individual residents.”

Reading Borough Council established ReadiBus in 1981 to provide transport for people with mobility problems. It now serves communities across Berkshire including Wargrave, Sonning and Goring.
