Own a piece of pop history in aid of Sue Ryder

A GUITAR signed by more than 20 Eighties pop stars has been donated to the Sue Ryder hospice in Nettlebed

A GUITAR signed by more than 20 Eighties pop stars has been donated to the Sue Ryder hospice in Nettlebed.

Representatives of the Rewind Festival delivered the instrument to the hospice in Joyce Grove on Tuesday and were then shown round.

The pink Nevada Stratocaster was left backstage at the festival on Temple Island Meadows in August to be signed by the performers including Billy Ocean, Peter Cox of Go West, Marc Almond, Midge Ure, Nick Heyward, the Sugarhill Gang and T?Pau singer Carol Decker.

Jackie Heartfield, artist liaison at Rewind, said similar items had sold at gala dinners for more than £1,000. She said: ?Part of my role is to get the artists to sign something and explain what it?s for. They?re always happy to do something for charity.

?Sue Ryder also runs a stand at our festivals to raise money.?

Hospice director Stewart Marks said: ?This significant partnership helped to raise more than £15,000, which will make a huge difference to the lives of thousands of people.?

The guitar and a signed Rewind programme will be auctioned by Sue Ryder in December.
