A CHARITY sale in Sonning Common raised £456.38.

A CHARITY sale in Sonning Common raised £456.38.

The women’s division of the Kidmore End branch of the Royal British Legion organised the nearly new and bric-a-brac sale at the village hall in Wood Lane. There was also a raffle and tea and cakes.

Jennifer Poska, secretary of the division, said: “It was a great effort by people involved but also all the people who supported us. The money will go towards the benevolent fund. We’re a very small group. We meet at Batten House in Sonning Common and we are always looking for new members.

“We do a lot of events in between meetings, just little coffee mornings that raise £20 or £30 but it all adds up.” The group’s next meeting will be held at Batten House in Lea Road on Monday from 2pm to 3.30pm. For more information, call division chairwoman Pam Pratt on 0118 972 3750.
