RIVERSIDE Counselling in Henley is appealing for volunteers to help staff the reception area at the Citizens Advice Bureau, where it has use of a room.

Hilary Arthur, director and clinical lead at the bureau, said: “It is a great opportunity for anyone with a bit of spare time.

“If any students plan a future in healthcare, voluntary work with us would enrich their CVs but we would welcome anyone — student, retired, whoever.”

Riverside’s counsellors see about 70 clients, ranging in age from 12 to 85, each week and work on a voluntary basis so the service is kept as affordable as possible and clients pay what they can afford.

Problems can be anything from eating disorders to bereavement, domestic violence and family problems.

The sessions in need of support are Mondays 5pm to 9.30pm, Wednesdays 4pm to 9pm and Thursdays 8pm to 9pm.

If you are interested, call Hilary Arthur or Sheridan Carr on 07879 381334 and leave your name and number for a call back or send an email to riversidecounselling service@gmail.com
