Race open for entries

NEXT year’s Goring 10km race will take place on March 13.

NEXT year’s Goring 10km race will take place on March 13.

Entries are now open for the annual event, which raises money for the village primary school and is organised by its parent-teacher association.

This year’s proceeds will go towards refurbishing the school’s outdoor play areas.

There are 1,200 places available and all are expected to be taken.

As usual, the race will start at Storton Lodge in Icknield Road and finish on Bourdillon Field after following a route through the surrounding countryside.

Runners will be guided by marshals and performances will be chip-timed.

A race spokesman said: “It’s brilliant for both serious competitors and fun runners seeking a challenge.

“It’s now regarded as one of the best 10km runs in the UK and is perfect training for the Reading half-marathon three weeks later.”
