AN auction of a guitar signed by more than 20 Eighties pop stars and donated to the Sue Ryder hospice in Nettlebed started today (Thursday)

AN auction of a guitar signed by more than 20 Eighties pop stars and donated to the Sue Ryder hospice in Nettlebed started today (Thursday).

It will run for 10 days with all proceeds going to the charity.

The pink Nevada Stratocaster was left backstage the Rewind Festival held at Temple Island Meadows in Remenham in August to be signed by performers including Billy Ocean, Peter Cox of Go West, Marc Almond, Midge Ure, Nick Heyward, the Sugarhill Gang and T?Pau singer Carol Decker.

Stewart Marks, the hospice?s director, said: ?It will make a fantastic Christmas gift for the Eighties music fan in your family."

Billy Hearn, of the Rewind Festival, who visited the hospice to present the guitar, said: ?We got to see what goes on. They treat all their patients with real care and affection, which made me really happy to see.?
