THE Sue Ryder hospice in Nettlebed is to hold a volunteer recruitment day on Thursday from noon to 2pm.
The charity is looking for help from people with a few hours a week to spare to help with tasks such as driving, reception and clerical duties, flower arranging, gardening and patient support.
On Thursday there will be an opportunity to chat with Sue Ryder staff and existing volunteers, look around the hospice and find out more about the roles.
Marion Haynes, volunteer co-ordinator, said: ?Volunteering can be incredibly rewarding and need not be a big commitment. You can volunteer for as much or as little time as you would like and we have roles to fit everyone?s needs.
?We are very lucky to have some wonderful volunteers who work so hard to support us but we need more to help us expand the services we can offer. The support from our volunteers is worth £790,000 per year.?
For more information, call Mrs Haynes on (01491) 641384 ext 273.
