Taste of India raises hundreds for charity

A total of £1,750 was raised at an India-themed evening in aid of the Chiltern Centre for disabled children in Henley.

A total of £1,750 was raised at an India-themed evening in aid of the Chiltern Centre for disabled children in Henley.

About 60 people attended the event called ?A Taste of India? at the Spice Merchant restaurant in Riverside.

The evening included Bollywood dancing, Indian food, a raffle, a game of true or false and an auction of an evening on the Spice Merchant boat.

The event was sponsored by Mercers solicitors. Harriet Barcella, community fund-raiser for the charity, said: ?The event was a truly unique experience and I was very proud to see people having so much fun for such a great cause.?
