Last push for YMCA

AN appeal to buy housing for Henley’s young people has moved closer to its target.

AN appeal to buy housing for Henley’s young people has moved closer to its target.

The town’s YMCA branch has now raised £246,000 towards purchasing the 31 flats for young people at its complex in Lawson Road. It must raise £300,000 by the end of March 2017.

The latest donation came from a trust fund.

Trustee Julian Brookes said: “I’m cautiously optimistic. We’ve still got another £54,000 to go so we must be a little bit cautious. We thank all those trust funds and benefactors for their contributions.”
