Pupils love muddy walk in the woods for Children in Need

CHILDREN at Robert Piggott Junior School in Wargrave raised more than £1,150 for Children in Need with a sponsored walk.

About 175 pupils completed the 7km walk around Bowsey Woods on Friday. They took along with them a Pudsey Bear, the Children in Need mascot. After school, there was a cake sale to raise more funds.

Organiser Rebecca Parry said: “All of the children who participated were very enthusiastic and enjoyed getting muddy on our walk.”

Meanwhile, Robert Piggott Infant School is to hold a Christmas gift assembly in support of the Salvation Army on Tuesday, December 6. Parents are being asked to send their children to school with presents wrapped up and labelled with ages and gender. These will then be handed out to needy people in the area by the charity.
