A Christmas hamper competition raised about £450 for the Mayor of Henley’s chosen charities.
There were six hampers donated by businesses to be won and they includedÂ tea, chocolates, books and soft toys. Mayor Lorraine Hillier drew the winning tickets. The money will be split between the Teenage Wilderness Trust, Thames Valley Animal Welfare and Oxfordshire Mind.
Councillor Hillier said: “A very big thank-you to all the local businesses for their help and to the people who bought a ticket.” She also thanked also interim town centre manager Rachel Rae and Paul Price-Davies, Henley Town Council’s events and project co-ordinator, for promoting the initiative and selling tickets.
