£14,000 for good causes

THE publisher of Goring’s newsletter gave almost £14,000 to good causes in the village last year.

THE publisher of Goring’s newsletter gave almost £14,000 to good causes in the village last year.

The Goring Gap News Association donated £5,000 towards this year’s Gap Festival, a biennial arts and culture event that began in 2014, and another £5,000 to Goring Free Church for a kitchen refurbishment.

It gave £1,000 each to Goring Thames Sailing Club for youth training and the inaugural Goring and Streatley Food Festival last year.

The Mobility Issues Group for Goring and Streatley receievd £800 towards the upkeep of the Readibus dial-a-ride service and £500 each went to Goring Robins’ girls’ football squad and the 2nd Goring and Streatley scouts.

Goring Gap in Bloom was given £100.
