TEN students raised £350 for the rugby charity TourAid by packing shoppers’ bags at Tesco in Henley.

The year 7 to 9 pupils at Highdown School in Emmer Green are trying to raise £15,000 to bring 10 children to the UK from Tanzania for 12 days. The visitors would be given rugby tuition and have a chance to play matches against other schools in the Thames Valley.

The school is about halfway towards its target. PE teacher Daniel Burnell said: “It was a successful morning. The children enjoyed being out with their friends and chatting with the public.

“It’s the second time we’ve done this at Tesco and we’re very grateful for all their support.”
