A SPRING fair raised more than £620 for the Millstream Day Centre in Benson.
There were seven stalls selling goods including skin products, art, plants, cards and children’s accessories.
The fair also featured a raffle with some of the prizes donated by the stallholders.
The proceeds are likely to go towards refurbishment of the centre’s kitchen.
Geraldine Gault, chairwoman of the fund-raising committee, said: “We’re trying a whole series of new fund-raising initiatives and this was the third.
“We’re really pleased with the success of it and we’ll probably repeat it next year.”
The other events were a Valentine’s tea and an Italian evening.
Mrs Gault added: “It’s really critical because we don’t get any help from anyone else and have to apply for grants.
“The aims is to get to a point where we break even. If we could get beyond that then it would be wonderful. We’re trying to draw in new people to the centre.”
The centre is also organising an open gardens event on Sunday, June 19 when a number of villagers will open their gardens to the public.
