Art cafe success

A WEEKLY art café in Whitchurch made £3,750 for charity in its first six months.

A WEEKLY art café in Whitchurch made £3,750 for charity in its first six months.

The event, organised by villager Gill Williamson, is held at the Old Stables from 10am to 12.30pm every Saturday and allows local artists to display and sell their work.

Tea, coffee and home-made cakes are sold by different groups each week.

Beneficiaries have included the village pre-school, St Mary’s and St John’s Churches, the Whitchurch and Goring Heath History Society and Twinning Association, Parkinson’s UK and the British Heart Foundation
