£700 raised at plant sale

A PLANT sale raised £700 towards this year’s Ewelme Horticultural Society show.

A PLANT sale raised £700 towards this year’s Ewelme Horticultural Society show.

About 100 attended the sale at the village hall, where there were hanging baskets, bedding plants and perennials for sale.

Society chairwoman Tracey Perkins said: “It was very good. I think some people had been caught out by the frost, lost their plants and were looking to restock.”

The show will be held on the village recreation ground on August 29 from 2pm. Mrs Perkins said: “The plant sale is our big annual fund-raiser because it enables us to put the show on and the show itself is very well supported.”

Show entry forms will be available from the village store in June.
