Pet project

Five members of staff at the Blue Cross rehoming centre in Lewknor will tackle an obstacle

Five members of staff at the Blue Cross rehoming centre in Lewknor will tackle an obstacle course to raise money for the homeless pets they help. Emily Holmes, Theresa Lovegrove, Natalie Wilson, Jo Gibbs and Suzanne Warne will be taking part in the six-mile Wolf Run in Leicestershire tomorrow (Saturday) in the hope of raising more than £1,000 for pets in need. They are part of a team of 19 who help look after about 80 dogs, cats and rabbits. Miss Holmes, the centre’s animal welfare assistant, said: “Although we help care for pets day to day, we wanted to more to help, so decided to sign up for the Wolf Run and really put ourselves through our paces for pets! We see first-hand the wonderful work Blue Cross does. The charity is totally reliant on donations and couldn’t do what it does without.” To sponsor the team, visit http://ow.ly/4n6HAc
