New rector appointed

A NEW rector has been appointed for the benefice of Shiplake, Harpsden and Dunsden.

A NEW rector has been appointed for the benefice of Shiplake, Harpsden and Dunsden.

Rev Robert Thewsey will be licensed at a service at the Church of St Peter and St Paul in Shiplake on September 15 at 7.30pm.

He has spent the last eight years looking after the Boscastle and Tintagel group of churches in Cornwall.

He a former financial advisor who worked at Westminster Bank and the Norton Priory Museum and Garden.

Rev Thewsey is married to Margaret and they have two children, Matthew and Rebecca.



He said: “Margaret, Matthew, Rebecca and I are all really excited about moving but also sad about leaving Boscastle behind. We have now been here for just over eight years and have made many, many friends.”

Rev Thewsey replaces Rev Paul Bradish who has moved to the Kings Worthy and Headbourne Worthy parish in Hampshire after five years..
