Frieth Church of England Combined School is celebrating attaining an “outstanding” grade following a Statutory Inspection for Anglican and Methodist Schools. The inspector spoke with headteacher Jo Reid, staff, governors, pupils and parents. She also examined the children’s work, watched lessons and took an in-depth look at the performance outcomes for the pupils. She reported that the school outstanding in four criteria: effectiveness of the leadership and management; distinctiveness and effectiveness; meeting the needs of all learners through its Christian nature; impact of collective worship on the school community. The inspector also said religious education was consistently taught well so that pupils made very good progress and reached standards above the national average. Mrs Reid said: “We are absolutely delighted that the inspection recognised the outstanding learning, progress, behaviour and spiritual development of our pupils as well as the dedication, fantastic teaching and spiritual guidance given by every member of the staff team.
