A SERVICE was held at St Bartholomew’s Church in Brightwell Baldwin to celebrate the restoration of three rare medieval stained glass windows and to thank people who helped with the project.
The Right Rev Colin Fletcher, Bishop of Dorchester, preached to a large congregation and dedicated the windows.
He also thanked everyone who had worked to protect the heritage of the small rural church, many of whom were present.
Over five months more than 120 people made donations while grants were awarded by 17 trusts including the Trust of Oxfordshire’s Environment via Grundon Waste Management, the Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust, the Sandra Trust, the Stansbury Trust and the Leche Trust.
“The parochial church council is very grateful to them all for their generosity,” said spokeswoman Tessa Mogg.
