Weather continues to affect local events

THE snowdrop teas festival at St Botolph’s Church in Swyncombe has been postponed for a second consecutive weekend because the visitors’ car park is underwater.

The festival will now take place on February 22 and 23, weather permitting.

Visitors will be able to see a carpet of snowdrops and yellow aconites in the churchyard.

Teas and cakes will be sold between 2pm and 4pm each day and the ministry team will bless the snowdrops at 3pm.

A choral evensong will be held on the Sunday, February 23 at 4.30pm.

The event raises money for church maintenance. Entry is free and there are signs on the B481 to direct visitors.

Last year’s event raised more than £4,000.
