NINETEEN members of the London City Mission visited Wargrave for a “ladies’ day”.
The met Camilla Cook, wife of Rev John Cook, vicar of St Mary’s Church, and were given a buffet lunch.
They were then given a tour of the village and a boat trip on the river.
They also visited the church for tea talked about their work in inner city London.
The mission was founded in 1835 to promote Christianity in the city and receives donations from St Mary’s.
