Films join in fringe

HENLEY’s fringe festival is expanding and this year the array of drama, music and comedy will be joined by a new genre — the short film.

Festival director Jo Southwell said: “It has been my great passion and pleasure to run the Henley Fringe. 2014 will be the seventh Henley Fringe and as such I felt it was really important to take the festival forward.

“Films have been entered from all over the world as well as from local film makers. We have selected 40 short films to be screened from all around the world. They include animation, student shorts, over 16s shorts and general release short films.

“The student films range from local filmmaker Freddie Fox aged 13 to graduating filmmakers of the London Film School.

“It is a really exciting programme of the up-and-coming talent that exists in film making.”
