KEN LOACH?s latest film ? his first documentary since 2005 ? premiered at the Regal Picturehouse Sunday 17th March and the audience also had the chance to tweet or text their questions to the director himself in a live satellite link interview session.

The Spirit Of ?45 is about the last year of the Second World War, when Britain?s Labour government rallied the nation to rebuild its battered economy.

An unabashed socialist, Loach says: "Generosity, mutual support and cooperation were the watchwords of the age. It is time to remember the determination of those who were intent on building a better world."

Loach trawled local and national film archives for rarely-seen footage of the newly-nationalised industries and the infant National Health Service, and has melded it with interviews and sound recordings to create an account of the times.

The film begins at 3pm at the Regal, and the live satellite panel question-and-answer session with Locah and friends, streamed direct from London, follows.
