THE Regal Picturehouse is going al fresco this month with a pop-up outdoor screen on Mill Meadows.

THE Regal Picturehouse is going al fresco this month with a pop-up outdoor screen on Mill Meadows.

The Regal By The River weekend takes place from Friday to Sunday, July 19 to 21 when movie buffs can enjoy a selection of classic movies under the stars.

Steven Spielberg’s summer blockbuster Jaws, starring Roy Schneider and Robert Shaw, opens the action on the Friday night.

John Hughes’ cult Eighties hit The Breakfast Club follows on the Saturday. With a young Emilio Estevez and Judd Nelson among the cast, the slow-burning school comedy reveals that five high school students have a whole lot more in common than they originally thought.

The weekend finishes on the Sunday with a slice of pure comedy gold — Billy Wilder’s Some Like It Hot. The comedy classic stars Marilyn Monroe, and Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis as two musicians dressed in drag after witnessing a mob hit.

Customers can watch in comfort on “bum-boxes” available for £3.50. Refreshments will be available from Henley Piazza Café serving hot food and drinks whilst the Regal Picturehouse will be selling alcoholic and soft drinks and confectionery from their own pop-up bar.

Each evening, entry to the outdoor screen will be open from 7.30pm with films commencing at 9pm. Tickets cost £9 adults, £8 students and £7 for Picturehouse members. No additional concessionary rates will be available for tickets.
