A boisterous display of middle-aged oddballs behaving very badly indeed.

This prequel to Disney’s Monsters Inc sees Mike Wazowski and James “Sulley” Sullivan learning their craft of scaring the life out of children at the Monsters University.

With another soundtrack by Randy Newman and with the indomitable Helen Mirren as the teacher, this is sure to delight children.

Fictional radio DJ Alan Partridge makes his first foray onto the big screen. A media conglomorate takes over the sleepy radio station and sacks night shift DJ Pat, who stages a gun siege in protest.

Great reviews for this British cult comedy hero.

The Smurfs 2 (U)

The Smurfs team up with their human friends to rescue Smurfette, who has been kidnapped by Gargamel.

More laughs from the boys in blue.

Starring: Greta Gerwig, Mickey Sumner, Adam Driver

Frances, a scatterbrain New York ballet dancer, is declared undateable. When her flatmate moves out she has trouble finding her place in the world, and begins an odyssesy of self-discovery.

It’s not called “Ha” for nothing — a very funny film. Shot in black and white.
