Mamma Mia! Cinema’s popping up again

ONE of the flat out sunniest films of recent memory has to be 2008’s Mamma Mia!

ONE of the flat out sunniest films of recent memory has to be 2008’s Mamma Mia!

Set on a Greek island rich in sun, sea and sand â?? and soundtracked by Abba â?? the jukebox musical’s transition from stage to screen proved worldwide box office gold.

Maybe that’s the reason Mamma Mia! has been chosen to open this summer’s Picturehouse Pop-Up season at Henley’s Mill Meadows.

The “Regal by the River” series starts next Friday (July 17) at dusk, with admission from 7pm. Tickets are £11 (full price) with children £6 and “bum box” seats available to hire for £3.50.

Mamma Mia! is followed on Saturday by Dirty Dancing, with The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel rounding off the first weekend on Sunday. Ghostbusters, Top Gun and The Theory of Everything make up the second weekend of films.
