Group to cut waste

A GROUP could be set up in Woodcote to encourage residents not to waste energy.

A GROUP could be set up in Woodcote to encourage residents not to waste energy.

The parish council is discussing the idea with the Woodcote Conservation Group and the Trust for Oxfordshire’s Environment could offer funding.

The group of volunteers would organise public talks on saving electricity and reducing household waste.

It could also provide energy audits for homes, schools and businesses and take infra-red photographs showing areas where heat is leaking from buildings.

Other ideas include finding new sites for solar panels and launching car-sharing schemes.
