A WOMAN who lost more than two-and-a-half stone after joining Slimming World has set up her own group.
Gemma Grange, 32, of Reading Road, Henley, decided to take action when her weight topped 12 stone following the birth of her second son Noah.
The former brand manager for KP Snacks couldn’t even fit into the larger jeans she had bought in anticipation of putting on extra pounds.
Mrs Grange said: “I kept seeing myself in photos and thinking, ‘that’s horrible’.”
She joined a Slimming World group run by Kerry James, which meets on Tuesdays at Henley Hockey Club, and lost 6lb in her first week.
Mrs Grange said: “I was sceptical at first but the results spoke for themselves.”
She lost 2st 8lb and has shrunk from a size 14 to a size 10, the smallest she has been since having her first child Lucas four years ago.
Mrs Grange said: “I loved it because it was a balanced eating plan rather than a ‘diet’ and you weren’t constantly restricting yourself.”
Her group will meet at Sacred Heart Church in Vicarage Road every Wednesday at 7.30pm from January 25.
Mrs Grange said: “I’m nervous about running my own group but also quite excited as I love working with people.”
