CAMPAIGNERS who supported Britain leaving the European Union have delivered a leaflet to homes in Henley with “key facts” relating to the European single market.
Change Britain claims there has been a lot of inaccurate information about what the single market is and what membership of it entails.
Martin Dew, who lives in Northfield End, Henley, and co-ordinated the Vote Leave campaign in the town prior to the EU referendum in June, said: “There has been a huge amount of fake news about the single market, so it’s important that the people of Henley know the difference between fact and fiction.
“The facts are that if we stay in the single market it would mean complying with EU law without having a say over it, retaining free movement of people and paying billions to Brussels each year. It would be like we never left the EU.
“This would fly in the face of the 17.4 million people who voted to take back control in June and be an affront to democracy.”
Change Britain is a campaign to make a success of Brexit. Since its launch in September, it has attracted more than 50,000 supporters.
