OUR fifth meeting took place on Tuesday, January 21 and although the attendance of 13 was a little down on normal, it was an excellent meeting.
The first speaker was Paul Westgarth, of Home Instead Senior Care, who is the organiser of the Henley Partnership’s health and wellbeing group.
He spoke movingly about the issues of dementia — not only for the charities and professionals involved in the care industry but also anyone who has an elderly parent.
Home Instead has commissioned a 45-minute “awareness” session for dementia, which is now used worldwide, to give an insight into the condition, its causes, symptoms, progression and ways of supporting people with the condition.
Paul has kindly offered to present this as a free seminar to anyone from the Henley Partnership who may be interested.
