Update: Rotary Club of Henley Bridge

ALAN DAWE has been made president of the club.

He replaces Mike Pooley who passed on the chain of office at Badgemore Park Golf Club on Wednesday last week.

Mr Pooley highlighted the club’s achievements of the past year, which included the Henley half marathon, the Sue Ryder fireworks event, which raised £17,000, and a visit to the club’s German twin club in Bad Oldesloe.

He said the club had raised money for many local charities, including Camp Mohawk in Wargrave and Bishopswood Special School in Sonning Common.

Mr Dawe said he was looking forward to hosting a return visit from Bad Oldesloe, continuing to support local charities, attracting new members — and winning the annual bowls challenge against Henley Rotary Club this month.
