Residents want sign

A NOTICEBOARD is to be put on the Gainsbourgh estate in Henley with information about the area, including its history.

The idea came from the Gainsborough Residents’ Association for its participation in It’s your Neighbourhood, a community gardening campaign run by the Royal Horticultural Society.

David Eggleton, who co-founded the association, said: “We have spent a lot of time speaking to lots of people to get the information. It is fascinating and will hopefully bring more people up to Gainsborough.”

Councillor Kellie Hinton, who chairs the Henley in Bloom committee, praised the association for its work on the estate, including planting flower beds, cleaning a bus stop and campaigning for disabled parking bays.

The committee has agreed to pay half the cost of the noticeboard up to a maximum £250.
