Henley Rotary Club

BARRY PRIOR has been made president of the club, taking over from Roger Sayer.

A formal handover took place at Henley Golf Club, where the club meets every Tuesday, followed by a lunch for members.

Mr Prior said: “I’m looking forward to a year of building on the strengths and the work Roger has done and continuing to build up the club with younger active members. We will also redouble our efforts to support local, national and international charities.”

Mr Sayer said: “I had a very enjoyable year, very full and active. We have a new lady member, Vivienne Quant, who joined us in January, and she is settling in very well. I’d like to think the presidency is in good hands with Barry.” The club has about 30 members and holds regular events to raise money for charity.

The most recent donation was a cheque for £1,500 presented to the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust.
