THE 54th annual Benson Veteran Cycle Club rally attracted 162 vintage two-wheelers.
The event, held earlier this month, saw riders take a 13-mile route starting at the playing field in Sunnyside before travelling through Benson Aerodrome with a mid-morning stop in Ewelme and then on to Chalgrove via Hollandtide Bottom for lunch at the Lamb Inn.
The return route took them through Berrick Salome and Roke, back to Sunnyside. Ned Passey, 93, the president of Benson Veteran Cycle Club who helped found the event, said: “It went well, they certainly enjoyed it.
“It’s about the longest thing that’s been going in Benson without a break, 54 years is a long time.
“The oldest bike was about 1880 and they went up to 1928, we don’t have anything beyond that.”
