Volunteers needed to save beavers

A BEAVERS group in Sonning Common may be forced to close unless more volunteers come forward.

The 1st Sonning Common Scout Group is looking for at least two leaders to run the group after leader Lewis Price left.

Scout and cub leaders Graham and Penny Edwards, Karl Taylor and Felicity Cooper will take over on a temporary basis for the next two months.

Mr Edwards, who is also chairman of the group, said: “It is with regret that the beaver scout colony at Sonning Common will have to close at Christmas unless we get some volunteers who are prepared to help out.

“It would be a shame to lose this section of six- to eight-year-olds at this time.”
